INTRODUCTION
Key Catering have documented its quality
aims and objectives in order to deliver high standards of service levels to its
client base.
Our quality manual is reflective of the
Company�s ambitions to work within the framework of the ISO 9001:2000
management systems model, to achieve and maintain a customer focused approach
throughout the whole organisation.
SCOPE
The stocking and supply of disposables,
vending and hygiene products to the catering and allied industries.
HISTROY
Key Catering was established in 1975 in the
heart of the East End of London, to initially
supply catering disposables to the Catering & Allied Trades.
The concept then now remains true today
,was and is , to grow the business nationally by having a dedicated team of
people whom consistently exceed the customers� in receiving a fast and
efficient distribution service with the same level of service being maintained
to all customers� , this being in the Key Catering mission statement.
The growth has been constant with branches
being opened in Birmingham (Midlands) in 1980, Manchester (Northern) 1984, Motherwell (Scotland) 1988, Portmouth
(Southern) in 1992.
The recognized aim achievement to become
the largest independent National Distributor in the UK, in this sphere of operation.
Strategically planned branches throughout
the UK
should enhance the service as Key grows along with some of its own notable
customers.
In the product terms, Key Catering offers
an extensive range of items with the addition of complete vending and hygiene
ranges of products, and has in fact become a specialist distributor in certain
sectors of the market such as a cinema supply, sandwich/coffee bar market,
industrial and contract caterers, health and education/government and local
council suppliers.
Amongst Key�s portfolio of customers there
are many �blue-chip� organisations whom have formed long standing partnerships
which reflect the range of product, spread of market penetration and ability to
service and supply which in the end is the acid test of Key�s performance and
growth.

APPROVAL
Key Catering is a recognised quality
supplier, gaining certification in 1994, within all branches.
Earlier recognition of achievement came in
1987 when Key also awarded First Price for its contribution to the regeneration
of London Docklands (now a particularly thriving finance centre � Canary Wharf)
by the London Docklands Development Corporation, sponsored by Barclays Bank
Plc.�
Further recognition of growth and achievement
has come in 2000 with Key Catering featuring in the �Deloite & Touche� Hot
100 companies� awards for consistent growth over a four � year period
recognising Key Catering as one of the fastest growing companies in the
country.

COMPUTER
SYSTEM
All branches are fully computerized,
operating their own telesales department.
Key Catering operate a fully integrated
bespoke Unix software system, using NCR hardware throughout all branches all
linked to the London
main frame.
We deliver to in excess of 17,400 delivery
points, each customers� delivery point is loaded on the computer with an
assigned telesales operators name being logged against each delivery unit, the
software has been developed to provide the Telesales Operator with standard
details such as;-
- Notes � for any tailored particulars.
- Delivery Instructions � to ensure that the customers needs are
printed on to the delivery notes.
- A fully diarised Telesales call system � The unit is assigned a
time and day for us to call.
This guarantees
that orders / deliveries are consistent .We do offer multiple delivery days to
the same area, so a customer can choose what delivery days and times suits them
best.
- At any time, the aforementioned customer information and
requirements can be accessed and updated by Telesales within all branches.
- The computer will update each individual customers ordering
history it holds for every delivery point. This is drawn up from the last
10 � orders (can be more if required). The computer will take every
different product on the last 10 � orders and display these on the screen
in a matrix. The unit then does not need to know the codes of the products
they require. All additions and amendments are made at this point if
required.
- A hard copy of the full order history is available for all
products and all sites. This information is very useful when customers
need to analyse their product consumption.
- The advantage of bespoke software is itl can be amended and
evolved to meet customer demands,sicnce the source code is the property of

All reports can
be catered for or produced to meet a specific request.
Key Catering
offer a fully integrated EDI system to cover invoices, Credits and Statements
this will reduce your administration cost.
Key
Catering stock in excess of 11,000 products and offer a fully comprehensive
print service for products to be printed to customer�s design.
The
awareness of benchmarking is communicated to all departments on a daily basis,
at each branch the delivery completion ratio�s are reviewed, monitored and form
an important part of the QMS improvement program.
